I am Annemarie, the founder of Neurodivergent Insider. I taught sociology and held middle manager positions in the FE sector before leaving the classroom in 2014 to complete a PhD exploring how accountability culture affects neurodivergent educators in Further Education.

This combination of classroom experience, doctoral research and leadership means I understand both the lived reality of neurodivergent educators and the organisational structures around them. I bring an insider perspective, grounded in research, to the services I deliver.

When I am not waxing lyrical about Universal Design and neuro-inclusion for all in the education sector, you will find me either in the sea or Morris dancing!

Neurodivergent Insider provides coaching, training and consultancy for neurodivergent educational professionals and the schools and colleges that employ them.

For individuals, I offer one-to-one coaching shaped by my own experience as a teacher, along with practical support with Access to Work applications. For schools, colleges and other education providers, I deliver CPD and training, and I help organisations design equitable onboarding and support processes, using Universal Design as a framework.

The aim is to make them proactive rather than reactive, so that neurodivergent staff are not measured against a neuronormative standard that was never designed with them in mind.

All my work is informed by current research and policy, so the support is practical, evidence-based, and relevant to the pressures educators face today.
